Rena Zaid, M.S., MSOM, L.Ac.
Rena is a licensed, board certified acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner, graduating summa cum laude with an MS in Oriental Medicine. She holds certifications in Traditional Chinese Nutrition and Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture and has completed advanced training in integrative oncology through Memorial-Sloan Kettering and MD Anderson. In addition to her Chinese medicine education, Rena has a BA in behavioral sciences and an MS in counseling.
Rena has an interest in supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, psycho/emotional or stress-related concerns, insomnia, addiction issues, migraines/headaches and fibromyalgia. She has an additional focus on adolescent and young adult mental health, and women's health, as well as helping those with serious illnesses including cancer, auto-immune diseases and neurological conditions. In addition to her private practice, Rena is an acupuncturist with NorthShore University HealthSystem's Integrative Medicine Program, working at Glenbrook and Highland Park hospitals. Rena also volunteers as an acupuncturist with the Cancer Wellness Center in Northbrook.
Rena's work stems from a commitment to helping people find balance in challenging situations, and in working toward the healthy integration of mind and body. She often teaches mediation and breathing techniques as part of the treatment process. It is her intention to help people become fully engaged partners in their own healing process.
